You are always welcome at this church
This Sunday’s scripture reading from the 14th chapter of Matthew highlights the story of Jesus walking on water right after the miracle of the feeding of the five thousand.
Jesus needs to be alone. He goes up a mountain to pray on His own and instructs the disciples to get in a boat and to go to the other side of the lake. The lake is huge, big enough for destructive storms that could batter a boat and potentially capsize it.
By evening, the disciples had gone far out into the lake. A storm is brewing. Jesus doesn’t go to them immediately, however, but waits overnight until the early morning.
This Sunday we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The United Methodist Church offers communion to an open table. This means that all Christian believers are invited to participate, regardless of whether they are members of the United Methodist or any other church.
We hope you will join us this Sunday.
If you want to know more about what to expect during Sunday’s worship service, you can download the bulletin below or visit the This Sunday link at GPUMC page on our website every week.
